Deformation includes any reshaping that occurs without adding or removing material, meaning the mass does not change through the process. One of the more popular of the forming and shaping machines is the power hammer. A power hammer is typically used in the forging process to strike and shape hot maluable metal. They are primarily used by blacksmiths, however they can also be used to shape sheet metal using a wide range of tooling.
