Press Brakes
Press brake machines are used in the metal forming process of bending and designed to bend materials such as thick-gauged sheet metal and plate. Press brakes, though similar in purpose to hand brakes (also known as sheet metal brakes), are not similar in design and functionality. Press brakes utilize downward hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric force as well as specific tool and dye to form the material, where hand brakes utilize leverage. Typically, the work piece is placed between the tool—mounted to the top working beam—and the dye which is mounted on the fixed table of the press. The working beam generally used hydraulics to bend the material to the desired angle or shape according to the dye.
