Big Ass Fans first started in 1999 under the company name HVLS fan Co. They entered the market selling large ceiling fans that spun slowly but moved an astounding amount of air. These fans kept large spaces cool, such as factories and dairy barns. Big Ass Fans now offers residential fans that have won numerous Energy Star awards. In 2016 they launched a new division called Haiku Home, in order to transform the home through cutting edge technology.
