Wood planers are designed to trim wood boards to a consistent thickness and flat on both sides. A wood planers cutting head is usually slotted for either 3 or 4 knives and rotates about 5000 rpm. An operator begins by selecting the cut depth and then runs the wood board through the planer machine.
