Extra Wide Single-Weldment Frame Elements
The most heavily sized end frame design found in the roll building industry. Unlike lighter end frame elements simply covered with sheet metal panels that are used by other manufacturers, Carell’s frame design looks and truly is oversized. The exclusive full frame design withstands more bending forces to guarantee rigidity and performance throughout the machines useful life. The overall external shell is solid heavy plate from front to back which eliminates the need for internal bolted stiffeners. These unique motorized end frames with extended design increase rigidity and strength. They are fabricated using ISO certified plate and methods, then inspected for additional quality control. After welding, all shoulder end frame weldments are stress relieved and machine on CNC boring and milling machines for precision fit and alignment.

Facile®: Advanced Plug and Play Wiring System
Quick and simple socket plug connections replace elaborate wiring and mechanical terminations. The machine wiring harness uses Carell’s exclusive Plug and Play connectors and digital distributor socket strips. The cabling system with connectors is more reliable over time, totally insensitive to environmental contamination and vibration and allows for quick and easy maintenance with unqualified personnel.
With Carell’s FACILE® Plug and Play system you can change a wiring connection (to hydraulic valves, encoders, potentiometers, micro-switch, etc) with quick disconnect socket plug connectors, without disconnecting any electrical wires. It is the same for all PLC modules! No tiny wires, just plug & roll without the intervention a skilled electrician!
Further to increasing your independence from third parties, all software is resident in static memory cards, (like those used in digital video equipment) and not in volatile EPROM chips! This means practically that you will never lose the software, even should you ever change a PLC or CPU module. Carell’s plug-play system is a military approved technology!

PPS Parmigiani Parallelism System
The PPS is the most advanced parallelism system available on the market today. The rolls parallelism in a plate bending machine is a key factor for production accuracy. The capability to maintain precision over years for performance is also another critical point. For this reason Carell employs the best of today’s available technology with digital control systems and hydraulic flow control via proportional valves.
Carell has designed a system resistant to wear that will give you years and years of trouble free performance, keeping the machine positioning precision just like your first day of operation! The top and bottoms rolls parallelism is fully controlled by a digital “high speed” FIELD BUS system. The package includes a set of hydraulic proportional valves with high performance digital control cards, matching the high speed of the FIELD BUS system. This digital technology (the loop control is 20 times faster than PLC-based electronic controls) joined with the hydraulic proportional valves, provides a parallelism precision of about 0.1 mm.
Hi-Tech Hydraulic: Advanced Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system is the operative core of your VBH: it runs everything from the bending rolls drive to the bending rolls movement, tilting and all other machine attachments. This is why Carell invested a lot in research and development to give you a smooth, precise, and highly responsive system.
Through digital controls the system is managed by dedicated hydraulic proportional valves (pressure and flow) that allows you to select the most convenient speed during each production step (vs other brands machines that give you only one or two selectable speeds) and the maximum central lower roll pinching force in order to adapt it to the characteristics of the plate being worked. The possibility to select low pressures for thin plates widely extends the range of the machine. With infinitely variable pressure and speed adjustment the operator will have full control of the process in any bending situation.

CNC Control type Parmigiani “Stradivari” with 3-D ROLLCAD with automatic program mode for single and multi-radius shapes, complete with interpolation package, the control creates automatically the complete bending program, simply entering the shall data (radius, thickness, width, type of material), with all the sequence for obtaining the required shape. If necessary, the program theoretically calculated by the control can be optimized by the operator.
