Convenient Operator Controls with Digital Thickness Setting

Ammeters: Individual ammeters for load monitoring. Allows for optimum stock removal and improved belt lift.

Safety: Emergency stop buttons on the front and rear of the machine. In addition, the machine is equipped with an over-height material gate which will shut down the machine if the material is too thick to prevent damaging the machine. In addition, there is a safety bump bar on the infeed of the table. 

Planer Head

Spiral Insert Knife Cutterhead: A solid steel 6” diameter planing head with a 30HP motor. 

Rows of solid carbide knives are inserted in a spiral pattern for superior chip removal, minimum noise, and an extremely smooth cutting effect. The cutterhead can be accurately raised and lowered. The cutterhead can be eliminated for sanding-only operation. 

Changing and rotating the knives is easily performed by sliding the cutter head on the front of the side of the sander. The cutterhead does not need to be removed from the machine. 

Contact Drum and Combination Sanding Head

A robust second sanding head featuring a 15HP rubber contact drum with 75 durometers, ensuring efficient material removal. 

The third sanding head features a 15HP, 5” diameter drum and a 3” wide platen. This configuration enables the machine to handle a wide range of sanding tasks with ease, from rough material removal to fine finishing. 

Constructed with cast iron head assemblies, these sanding heads are built to maximize efficiency while maintaining high-quality finishing results.

Accurate Adjustment of the Drum and Platen

Both the first and second contact drums can be micro-adjusted for belt grit compensation. In addition, the combination unit has an adjustable platen which can be raised or lowered depending on whether you are performing calibration or finishing sanding. The quick-release outboard support allows for fast belt changes. 

Automatic Disc Brakes for Sanding Heads

Boasting a robust 30HP, 15HP, and 15HP motors, the SPL900NDA delivers efficient power to the planing and sanding heads, tackling demanding tasks.

High-Quality Rubber Conveyor Bed

The table is raised and lowered by four individual ball screws ensuring perfect flatness and added durability. Equipped with an over-height lever gate that will automatically shut off the machine should a workpiece too thick be sent through for sanding, also equipped with a front safety bar, emergency stop buttons on the front and rear of the machine, and safety switches on all door panels.
