The W1857 Jointer with Mobile base is a feature packed machine with so much to offer especially the 4-row helical cutterhead with 36 indexable carbide inserts. Each insert can be rotated three times to expose a new, sharp edge. They don’t require finicky adjustment and setup that traditional straight-knife jointers do. You’ll save valuable time and money from the start. The 9” x 72” precision-ground cast-iron table is ready to surface plane, edge joint, bevel joint, and square stock. The tables are easily adjusted by heavy-duty cast-iron handwheels and move along dovetail ways. The easy-to-use fence has built-in stops to simplify adjustments between 45°, 90°, and 135°. Additional features include a thermal protection switch, built-in mobile base, and integrated 4” dust port. Like all Shop Fox jointers, the W1857 comes with a 2-year warranty which covers parts and assures the unit is free from factory defects. (Consumables are not covered by the warranty.) The W1857 manual was written by Shop Fox’s U.S. based Technical Documentation Department and is packed with useful information.
