Description

The foundation of all RMT Angle Rolls is a solid, industrial strength frame precisely formed and precision welded made from mill-certified, high-yield steel. As a result, RMT Angle Rolls perform accurately and reliably year after year. RMT is so confident in their frames that they offer a 10-year warranty with their standard machines. The inner workings are heat treated and induction hardened to provide long life and consistent repeatability in forming parts.

RMT machines are designed with state-of-the-art technologies that provide unparalleled accuracy and precision. This is the result of their world-class Research and Development departments that has been constantly perfecting their machines for decades, allowing them to consistently outperform their competitors’ machines year after year.

Even a half decent machine can bend a part, but it takes a quality machine to be able to bend reliably and repeatedly without having to take further time and effort to “fix” your parts. If only bending I beams was as easy as Superman makes it look. It isn’t. However, with RMT angle rolls you will have the ability to accurately and easily bend I beams, H beams, and just about any other structural steel shape. RMT’s engineers have really put time and effort into creating the right solution for structural steel.

Benefits of 3 Rolls Angle Roll Bending Machines

Three roll angle/profile rolls are machines that are more precise, productive, versatile, fast, safe, and easy to operate. They are less dependent on operator competence. They are ideal for bending pipes up to 24" diameter.

  • The fastest and most accurate bends are made by three roll machines. The profile is held securely in place between the top and bottom rolls while the side rolls move vertically to create the bend.
  • Bottom rolls that are located on the bottom side of the top roll at two different axes obtain the most ideal bending.
  • The machine has capability to work horizontally and can be installed to the floor level because of working height.

Engineering and Production Advantage

The mechanical and hydraulic systems on A‐FAB machines are designed by experienced RMT engineers. These engineers design the machines utilizing parametric 3D CAD technology as well as implementation of FEA and mechanism analysis. All mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems are designed and tested by RMT electrical and mechanical engineers. Only after following lengthy tests and evaluations are the machines authorized to be manufactured in serial production.

  • Stable and Robust Machine Body
    • Machine body is strengthened and lowered to minimize twists and deformation. The robust MONOBLOCK body is stress relieved after the welding operation. Whole body is machined with 5 axes CNC machining centers with single reference fixing. Parallelism of all axes and the surfaces of the machine assures the precision and long lasting of the critical characteristics of the machine.
  • Strengthened Guiding Systems
    • Rolls are guided with spherical roller bearings. Guiding system requires less lubrication and keeps its precision in the long term.
  • Rolls & Support
    • Rolls and their positions are selected after long term engineering, tests, and evaluation periods. Side rolls are guided by circular beds which allows them to act as 2 independent axes on swing type moving. System allows for bending of minimum work piece diameter as 1.5 times of top roll diameter depending on the capacity of the machine. Side rolls approach the top roll on swing movement which allows perfect prebendings as well as spring back minimization.
  • Durable Rolls
    • The most important element of a profile roll is the shafts themselves. Most machines in the market have weak shafts that deform during the bending process. RMT uses highly tensile forged and stress relieved steel (42CRMO4, EN 10083‐1 with ultrasonic testing acc. to SEP 1921‐84, group 2 class C/c) shafts that are machined by high precision CNC lathes. Working surfaces of  the shafts are CNC induction hardened to HRC 56‐60 (4‐5 mm deepness) and all rolls volume hardened to HRC 54‐56. Hardness tests are performed at varying points on the shafts and rolls.
  • Precise Roll Positioning System
    • Bottom rolls are forced by two powerful hydraulic cylinders. They do not lose position by high precision load holding valves even at high pressure. Because of its high torque, a RMT machine bends the part with fewer steps. All rolls are driven by direct drive independent high torque hydraulic motors and planetary gear boxes (BONFIGLIOLI).
  • Hydraulic and Electrical System
    • Machine movements are triggered by hydraulic components. The precision on all axes are acquired by world leader Duplomatic (Made In Italy) valves’ high speed response ability. Pressure safety valves that are used against peak pressures and overload provide protection for motors and other components. Electrical system designed compatible with CE safety regulations. The system consists of well-known electrical components such as Siemens, Schneider, and Opkon. The system is protected by current overloadings of its components, power supplies, electronics, and motors. PLC Unit used is from Panasonic.
